Baked Cheese Sandwiches

I don't know about you , but we love grilled cheese sandwiches. I make them for the kids lunches, and I love to make them as an extra when I make soups , instead of bread. But I HATE having to make each one on a skillet. It takes forever and the kids eat in intervals , while the cheese is still hot. I decided to try baking the sandwiches in the oven and toast many of them at a time. It workeed beautifully, and this is the only way I make grilled cheese sandwiches now. They come out super crispy, with perfectly melted cheese. So yummy with different cheeses and veggies.

Baked Cheese Sandwiches

8 slices mild cheddar cheese, thick sliced
8 slices white bread
3 tablespoons spreadable butter

Preheat oven to 450°F.
Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place on a cookie sheet butter side down.
Place 2 slices cheese on each piece of bread.
Place other piece of bread on top, lightly butter side up.
Bake for approximately 5 minutes.
Then flip each sandwich over.
Bake additional 3-4 minute until done
